Togouchi Beer Cask Finish is first matured in bourbon casks and then in IPA beer casks for six months. What is special about the Togouchi whiskies is the unique location for the maturation process: In the mountainous region of Nishi-Chugoku Sanchi, there is a tunnel that was built by the Japanese railway company in 1970 but remained unused. With a constant temperature of 14°C and a humidity of 80%, it offers good conditions for the maturation of the whiskies. Only 36 IPA casks were selected for the first batch.
